Restoring our landscape Scotsburn and surrounds

Organisation

Nature & Biodiversity, Community Connection

What are you doing to create a more sustainable future?

The Upper Williamsons Creek Group’s area incorporates the Mount Buninyong, Lal Lal, Scotsburn, Mount Doran and Durham Lead districts. We encourage landowners and community members to undertake environmental projects that will protect and enhance the natural resources within our region.

With the help and guidance of our group, landholders can learn how to implement best land management practices and techniques on their properties.

We facilitate a wide range of programs that cater for different landholders’ interests, such as:
• Revegetation for biodiversity
• Workshops, field days & short courses
• Weed and feral animal control
• Soil improvement
• Sustainable agriculture
• Pasture improvement

What impact has your initiative had so far?

In 2025 we celebrated 30 years working together to improve our landscape. We were pivotal in community resilience through the community dinners which continue today and biodiversity rehabilitation following the Scotsburn fires in 2015 with the Leigh Catchment Group and the Phoenix Program.
We meet every second Thursday of the month, on even months of the year (except December), at the Scotsburn Hall and welcome new members! upperwillylandcare@gmail.com
