What are you doing to create a more sustainable future?
The Nature Stewards program is helping build a more environmentally aware and connected community. With two new programs planned for autumn and spring 2026, Nature Stewards continues to empower everyday people to understand biodiversity, climate change, land management and Traditional Owner knowledge, strengthening our community’s capacity to protect and restore the environment.
What impact has your initiative had so far?
Since launching in 2022, more than 100 local participants have completed the 10‑week course, gaining practical skills and confidence to care for Ballarat’s natural places. The program has sparked ongoing community action — from volunteering and citizen science to local advocacy and on‑ground environmental projects.
